GRASP stands for GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice. It is a supplementary assessment to GLOBALG.A.P. focused on social practices on farms and in agri-food businesses. GRASP is not a standalone certification and is applied only alongside an active GLOBALG.A.P. certification.
The aim of GRASP is to assess whether the farm applies core requirements related to workers, labour relations, working conditions and responsible social practices. It is especially important for producers, producer groups and exporters employing seasonal or hired workers.
GRASP is needed when a buyer, retail chain or exporter requires proof of social responsibility at farm level. It is particularly important for fruit and vegetables, seasonal employment, producer groups and supplies to international markets.
